The CA-1P extends the PAT-1P with precise contact angle measurements based on the sessile drop method. By analyzing the shape of a liquid drop on a solid surface, the system provides quantitative information about wettability, surface cleanliness and surface treatment quality.

The CA-1P determines the contact angle by evaluating the profile of a sessile drop resting on a solid surface. The equilibrium between the liquid, solid and surrounding gas defines the drop geometry, allowing precise characterization of surface wettability, cleanliness and surface free energy.
